Polanco, Edward

Edward Polanco is a scholar of Mesoamerica and Kuskatanchanej (person from Kuskatan). He was born in Los Angeles, CA but he his family and ancestors are from Kuskatan (Western El Salvador). His main interests include Nahua history and culture, healing among Indigenous peoples, and Nahuan languages. He is an assistant professor of History at Virginia Tech and the Co-Chair of The Indigenous Alliance at Virginia Tech. He is the author of Healing Like Our Ancestors: The Nahua Tiçitl, Gender, and Settler Colonialism in Central Mexico, 1535–1660 (University of Arizona Press)
