With more than thirty years of work experience, Rodrigo began his professional career in journalistic research and production tasks for television programs directed by leading national directors, as well as the National Award for Cinematographic Arts of Cuba, Fernando Pérez. As an advisor to the Technological Innovation Program of the Ministry of Economy in Chile, in 1998 he assumed the role of technical secretary of the Presidential Commission for New Information and Communication Technologies, dedicating himself from then on to educational innovation, highlighting the creation of the digital education platforms of the University of Chile: UAbierta [OpenUniversity] and EduAbierta [OpenEducation]. He has advised public and private organizations, in Chile and abroad, in the design and implementation of technology-assisted education systems, in addition to founding the companies Ciberanía, Digital Citizenship for Development and Edubit, Educational Technology. Since its creation in 2018, he leads the development team of the Open University of Recoleta, the first popular university with communal, national and global coverage in the world.
