Holds a Ph.D. in Communication from the Federal University of Fluminense, a degree in Art History from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and a master’s degree in History, Theory, and Criticism of Culture from the State University of Amazonas. She has served as a professor in the Department of History and Theory of Art at UFRJ and was an exchange student at the New University of Lisbon, where she studied gender, migration, and globalization. Currently, Mariah is a visiting professor in the Graduate Program in Law at the Federal University of Pará. She is also a social development specialist for the World Bank.
