Sánchez, Malely Linares

Photographer, journalist, and teacher-researcher at the Autonomous University of Zacatecas, in Mexico. Her main research topics and lines of inquiry include state and society: institutions, political processes, and social movements in Latin America; peace processes as a social construction; culture in identity formation; and the relationship between communication and feminism. She is part of the Research Working Groups of CLACSO: Indigenous Peoples and Autonomy Processes; Communication, Politics, and Citizenship Working Group; and the Ibero-American Research Network on Communication and Feminism for Social Justice (IBERFEMCOM), which brings together researchers from eleven countries. Malely has a Bachelor in Social Sciences from the Francisco José de Caldas District University, a PhD and a master’s degree in Latin American Studies, a PhD in Education and Social Communication from the University of Málaga, and a Specialist degree in Negotiation and Management of Political and Social Conflicts from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). In 2019, she was awarded the Alfonso Caso Medal by UNAM. Her research work has focused on participatory practices with various communities and indigenous peoples in Latin America.
