Jesús, Nicacia Lino de

Nicacia Lino de Jesús is an Indigenous communicator, community leader, and advocate for the defense of Indigenous territories and the revitalization of the Nawat language in Puebla, Mexico. She currently serves as President of Radio Tosepan Limakxtum (XHSIAE 91.3 FM), a community radio station representing the Masehual, Nahua, and Tutunakú peoples, and is Co-founder of Wiki Katat, Mexico’s first social and community-based mobile network. She also represents the Gender Committee of the Unión de Cooperativas Tosepan Titataniskeh while completing a bachelor’s degree in Biology.

Her work bridges community media, telecommunications, gender justice, Indigenous language revitalization, and environmental stewardship. Nicacia has coordinated projects in community education, rural connectivity, audiovisual production, and participatory research, promoting local knowledge and collective self-determination. She has directed and contributed to documentaries on Indigenous community media and has spoken at the Mexican Senate on telecommunications reform and Indigenous audiences’ rights. As an interpreter and translator of the Nawat language, she is committed to strengthening cultural heritage and advancing Indigenous-led communication, technology, and territorial autonomy through collaborative and community-based initiatives.
