Social scientist, with a master’s and PhD in Sociology. He is a professor at the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FCA) at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). The relationship between technology and politics is the focus of his research interests, with an emphasis on Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). Some of his recent research and supervision topics include mobile networks, electromagnetic spectrum, community networks, computational propaganda, artificial intelligence, and data science. He is a founding member of the Internet Governance Research Network (REDE).
