Cuia Campinas is an ongoing space for countercolonial dialogue and knowledge exchange that began in May 2025, bringing together students, activists, researchers, educators, and community members to explore connections among Black and Indigenous epistemologies, ancestral knowledge, technological autonomy, and critical approaches to digital technologies. Through workshops, discussion circles, cultural activities, and encounters across academic and community spaces, the Cuia creates opportunities to examine relationships among technology, territory, knowledge, and power.
Cuia Campinas is developed through collaborations involving the Laboratório de Geografia dos Riscos e Resiliência, Casa de Cultura Tainã, and Núcleo de Desenvolvimento Digital da Rede Mocambos, in connection with the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). These collaborations bring together academic and community-based forms of knowledge, strengthening connections among universities, communities, and territories while creating spaces for critical experimentation, technological autonomy, and the exchange of different ways of knowing, with the support of the Abya Yala Pluriversity.
