Visit to the Tainã Cultural Center

  • Collective breakfast and round of introductions by all participants;
  • TC Silva, Nico, Vinicius, and others involved in Casa de Cultura Tainã presented a historical perspective on their worldview (“a world more in our own way”) as realized through Tainã’s trajectory. Highlights included Baobáxia, the Route of the Baobabs, and the community garden;
  • Yunuen Torres shared the history of Cherán, describing how the community—following an uprising led primarily by a collective of women—began to autonomously govern its territory, in ways distinct from the logic of the State and liberal democracy. The defense of Cherán is grounded in ancestral wisdom, through fire, arms, aesthetics, communication, and the arts (“we don’t know how to paint, but we make murals”);
  • Videoconference connection (Jitsi hosted on the cultural center’s server, with livestreaming on TV Tainã), linking Cherán with participants from Xamoneta Colectiva.
  • Meeting on dissident technologies and activism, with participation from students and special guests who also attended CryptoRave 2025
