Geographies of Digital Wasting

Opened during the Abya Yala Pluriversity Week at the Newman Library, the itinerant exhibit “Geographies of Digital Wasting” guides the visitors through the processes of electronic wasting (e-waste) in multiple phases of production and locations in the world, from data centers in Virginia, US, to discard regions in Zimbabwe.

The exhibit was curated by Lauren Bridges (University of Virginia, US), Ingrid Burrington, Zane Cooper (St. Lawrence University, US), Margaret Macherera (Lupane State University, Zimbabwe), Jasper Mangwana (Zimbabwe Youth in Sustainable Development Goals), Vusumuzi Maphosa (National University of Science and Technology, Zimbabwe), David Zezai (University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa).
