With a unique aesthetics and deep critique of capitalism, the documentary “As You See” (1986), directed by Harun Farocki, approaches the developments of technology from arms and weapons to machinery and transportation. Yet, this film is an art piece in collage form. The screening was followed up by a discussion led by Diego Vicentin (School of Applied Sciences, UNICAMP, Brazil) and Fabiano Galleti (visiting Ph.D. student, UNICAMP, Brazil) on colonization, violence, domination and impacts of technological changes in societies

The Abya Yala Pluriversity was launched in the first week of April 2024, with the Abya Yala Pluriversity Week in the Department of Science, Technology, and Society at Virginia Tech, in the lands of Tutelo and Monacan people, with a series of events around the visit of Yunuen Torres Ascencio, from where we call today Cherán, México.
