Discussion with VT’s Native Students

On Tuesday, April 2nd,Visiting scholar Yunuen Torres Ascencio presented her film and documentary Tsihueri, el que fue valiente [Tsihueri, the one who was brave] about her family after the assassination of her brother, to Native undergraduate and graduate students in the Ati: Wa:oki Indigenous Community Center (“meeting house” in the Tutelo language). The film was followed by a talk and discussion with the students. During this visit, Yunuen spoke Spanish while VT graduate student Gala Lucia Gonzalez Barrios, worked as her “angel,” helping with interpretations.
